Online Trauma and Addiction Therapy for Adults in New York, Connecticut, and Utah

I am Sophie Elliott, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I help adults work through trauma, PTSD, and addiction, and I also work with people who love someone struggling with addiction.

Everything is online, so you can do this work from wherever you feel safest in New York, Connecticut, or Utah.

Trauma & Loss

A trauma or a loss is still shaping your days, and you want to feel like yourself again.

Addiction & Recovery

You are working on recovery from addiction, or you are early in figuring out what recovery looks like for you.

An open journal and a cup of coffee on a table, the daily work of recovery.

Who I Help

Most of the people I work with are carrying something heavy and are ready to set it down. You might be here because:

Two figures sitting close together, one supporting the other through addiction.

Loving Someone With Addiction

You're supporting someone you love while caring for yourself too.

Anxiety & Depression

Your mind will not stop, or everything has gone flat, and some weeks it is both.

A quiet mountain river, an image of steadier ground after anxiety and grief.

A Calm Practical Approach

My approach is trauma-informed and down to earth. We move at a pace that feels safe to you.

I use two well-studied, practical methods to help you understand what is keeping you stuck and to build skills for hard moments. You will not be handed a worksheet and left alone with it. We do this together.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

We notice and change the thought patterns that keep you stuck.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

We use practical skills for mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.

Meet Sophie

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in trauma and addiction. I earned my Master of Social Work at the University of Utah and trained in residential and luxury treatment settings, where I sat with people through some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

Now I do that work online with adults across New York, Connecticut, and Utah.

Together we will address trauma and PTSD, addiction and recovery, the strain of loving someone in addiction, anxiety, depression, and grief, with a plan built around you and not a template.

An open doorway with light coming through it, an image of a new beginning.

We Can Start With A Conversation.

No charge, no pressure. We will see if we are a good fit. Sessions are $200 for 50 minutes

What I Treat

You do not have to know exactly what to call what you are going through. These are the areas I work with most often, and we can sort out where to begin together.
